Philosophy
Based on our belief that the benefits of a fine independent education should be accessible, Chatham College School offers an affordable alternative for families that delivers an unprecedented educational experience in the Chatham-Kent region. Our commitment to uncovering each student’s gift requires a high-touch experience that allows us to get to know each individual student, nurture their unique gifts, and inspire a constant reach- to- potential both in and out of the classroom. We believe that Chatham College School provides an environment that supports strong motivation, diligence, and respect for self and others and that these unique conditions, cultivate confident, happy and high-achieving students.
Mission
Chatham College School graduates will be equipped with the finest academic preparation, a lifetime commitment to fitness, and the social skills, values and experiences they need to grow into productive, socially-conscious citizens of their community, their country and the world.
History and Facilities
Located in picturesque Chatham-Kent, Ontario, the school is the former home to the historic Chatham Collegiate Institute founded in 1887. The facilities are on par with some of Canada's finest independent schools, offering 5 science labs, a dedicated art room, a performing arts centre, and a double gymnasium. Parents are comforted by the safety and security of the campus and find it overflowing with a wide variety of educational opportunities for their children.
On Campus
At the heart of the facility, is the 5000 square foot Chatham Hall of Wonders, containing both treasures of play as well as an
imaginative feast of discreet learning opportunities. Student’s are delighted with the “wonder” of imaginative play inspirations they discover in
Chatham's Magic Wardrobe –
but the Hall of Wonders offers much more...In Picasso’s Garden students can be found learning to paint, draw and learn about art. Students become Chatham World Explorers as they celebrate and study global cultures. Einstein’s Library presents opportunities in the sciences and the hall presents regular student recognitions for their achievements in athletics, academics and in community service, where students are “knighted” by The Chatham Order of Light, a distinguished group of Chatham’s older students that mentor and champion the school’s efforts to further the spread of good in the world around us.
Off-Campus
Off campus, students will explore the
rich history and local industries unique to Chatham-Kent, visiting maple farms,
historic sites, and museums. On campus, students will enjoy outstanding facilities steeped in tradition.
Other Services
The school will offer a full out of school care program for families who need care from 7:30am up to 6pm as well as a bus service for the City of Chatham and the surrounding communities.
